Maybe try rubbing alcohol on the custom cycle add ons before nail polish remover. Might work and be less likely to bother the paint.....

Jan I have one of those that I bought from a ministorage where I have a unit. It was on one of several tables outside, from a unit that had been abandoned. I don't know why I waited so long to ask the site manager if I could buy it. I finally offered him $5 for if I could get it to work...

Kevin You might try placing the machine against  the wall (so it doesn't move away from you) and firmly push in the door at the latch point while you are simultaneously pushing the " uncovered "  metal "button" to the right. It may relieve a bit of the " locking " pressure for easier button...
