Well the U.S. no.1 on my birthday was "Hangin' tough" by new kids on the block. I always preferred "You've got it (the right stuff)" though =P The U.K. no.1 when I was born was "Ride on Time" by Blackbox. A truly amazing song!

Help me to become more Eco Friendly

I can't understand why a top loader would be less likely I'd imagine the innards are pretty similar, just turned on their side. Providing you regularly use a bleach containing powder and do regular hot washes and leave the door open between cycles there should not be a problem with smells or...

Help me to become more Eco Friendly

Modern european front loaders also have water levels which a But the washing results are perfect in any machine I've used. I think the major problem with the US machines is that since people are so used to top loaders, the manufacturers have made front loaders using european water levels but...

    Hotpoint problems

We used to have a first edition wm52 from 1999 It would bang and rattle like mad on final spin and would often spin unbalanced. I preferred it when it span unblalanced though. When the sensor did stop the spin it would just click onto the next rinse and not attempt to spin again, giving poor...

Help me to become more Eco Friendly

I recently experimented with washing everything at 40 But I have gone back to washing colours at 40 and whites at 60. dyson washing machine. Sell or Not?

personally I'd go for the Miele but I'm not really a big fan of the Dysons. Cool machines but I wouldn't want one as my only machine. Depends how much you like it. I'm sure someone here with room for a collection would take it off your hands =]

Does anyone have any tips on stopping my clothes being so stiff?

I don't have a water softner just naturally unbelievably soft water. I'm gonna try cutting right back on detergent, using the minimum amount that will do the job. ABC World News - Clothesline Arguments!

Is it that uncommon to line dry in the US? that when it begins to regain popularity it's newsworthy? I think this is a major difference between the US and Europe. Over here (in the Uk at least) most people have dryers but line dry clothes whenever the weather is nice enough. It seems that even...

Does anyone have any tips on stopping my clothes being so stiff?

Hi, I'm really getting sick of my clothes (especially towels) coming out stiff and sandpapery. I use persil powder or liquid and a full cap and a half of lenor concentrate softner. I have really soft water and almost solely line dry. Tumble drying helps them a bit, but they still come out rough...
