    New Range Thread!

The first Monarch range I ever saw was our next door neighbor's, ca 1958.  It was decked-out with metallic accents like the cars of the time, and built like a tank.  Sometime in the late 60's we bought a similar one at Goodwill and hauled it up north to the farm to replace Grandma's ailing...

    Question on the Roto-Rack

Wow Robert, you're really coming along on that project.  I can't wait to see the final result!  I remember being mesmerized by the roto rack "show" at Sears.  With this machine across from your Kitchenaid a person could get whiplash watching both in action!

    Older Kitchenaid

I'm going to look at the dishwasher tomorrow night.  Fingers crossed that it's in resurrectible condition!  The guy also has a double oven Gibson range I'm going to look at.

Beaver DAM is in WI. Beaver Bay is in MN. Duh! Edited that little brain lapse.  It's been so hot here I have had escaping to the north shore of Lake Superior on my mind, lol.

Red range That's a Monarch.  If a range could ever be called sexy, that one fits the description!  I'd take that over a red sports car any day.

Electric Bill- This Happens to me ALL the time

I'm on the budget plan with my utility company and my monthly average for gas and electric over the last year was $100.  It's shocking how much of that $100 is taxes and fees!  The average recently went down a few bucks at the "cleanup month."  The meters get read every few months and in between...

    My Miele Ariel Vacuum canister

I wish I could offer some help but I ran into the same kind of situation.  My sister's Miele Redstar quit working and I offered to look at it.  Taking that thing apart is like breaking into Fort Knox.  I managed to get the switch/power module cassette off but couldn't figure out how to get the...

Electric Bill- This Happens to me ALL the time

Mark, bill fluctuations and inaccuracies like that are inexcusable!  Are any of your neighbors experiencing the same issues?  You're probably not the only one.  It sounds to me like the meter readers aren't doing their job and the power company needs to clean up their operation.   I'd let the...

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KDI-21A: how to remove washer arm?

The wash arm should just lift off.  Maybe there is something trapped inside or gunking it up.  Does it spin freely when you give it a twist?

    Ribcage/Needle Shower

The music faculty offices at my college were located in a large older home across the street from campus.  Upstairs, the luxuriously huge main bathroom had a tiled showerstall with shower jets "in the round" and a large "rainstorm" fixture on the ceiling.  A person could really wet in a hurry...

    Older Kitchenaid

Here's hoping.... I emailed the seller yesterday but haven't heard anything yet.  Trust me, I will prevail upon the cumulative wisdom here to get it back in service if I manage to snag it.    A small booster heater would definitely be in order.  My water heater is set to 145 degrees and...

    Older Kitchenaid

1951 Kitchenaid in Stillwater What do you think guys?  Should I take the plunge?   I don't know anything about them but I've always wanted one of these early Kitchenaids, and this one is practically in my backyard!

    Old Kitchenaid dishwasher

why are they always so far away? I wish one of these classic Kitchenaids would turn up in my neck of the woods!  I've wanted one for as long as I can remember.  When my folks bought our first dishwasher I lobbied long and hard for a Kitchenaid but Dad said it had to be either Wards or Sears...

    Reed Organ? Model 4705

Wow, does that bring back memories!  I got one kind of like that when I was 4.  After a few months I was playing along with commercial jingles on TV and all the Saturday morning cartoon theme songs.  That's when my folks decided I should probably start taking piano lessons.
