Hi there, I recently came across a Frigidaire “Compact 30” slide-in range, model RG-533. The cooktop works fine, but the oven/broiler is dead, as is the clock. Is suspect the clock is the culprit or, rather the times mechanism for the oven), but I don’t want to deal with having it repaired...

Here’s a bigger shot of the stove. I’m still kicking myself for not taking the door off, but that’s life. The stove and freezer have a sort of lemon-lime thing going on.

Thanks, John. Let me know if you want to part with them. It's in really good shape, all things considered, and everything seems to work - including the clock. I haven't tried the oven cleaner feature, because the oven isn't dirty.

Thanks, John. Here's the upper level oven handle. Part of it just must have dissolved. The lower oven handle is more tricky, as I have the door apart now. One of the screws broke off while moving. I tried drilling out the broken-off screw, but aren't having much luck. I'll take a look at the...

We have CFL's in almost every fixture in the house, and they seem to generally work fine and have a long life. There is one fixture, however, that burns them out at an alarming rate. I suspect there may be something wrong with the fixture, but I haven't gotten around to switching it out.

There I was, skulking around the St. Vincent de Paul on my lunch break, and there it was - this little gem of a can opener! Ninety-nine cents later, we were on our way home. It's a GE, but I don't think I've ever seen this model before - and I've seen plenty of can openers.

I absolutely love those! Way too far for my budget, however. I'm surprised that they never show up out here, because of the huge preponderance of electric stoves.

I love K-Mart! I don't think K-mart ever gave up on layaway. I remember buying a TV on layaway from (I think) K-Mart back in the 80's. Couldn't get credit to save my life, so it was that or nothing. Right now, I'm buying a really fun lamp on layaway from a local antique store.
