    Just an observation

I certainly would have said something to the management. I don't have a problem with the air dryers, but I do like paper towels so I can turn the faucet on and off and also used the towels to open the door knob, which contains lots and lots of bacterial germs. John

Darren K, Thank you for the hint. I never knew what that cycle on my dryer was used for. I wonder if you could start your towels on this cycle and then hang them out to finish drying? John

Aldspinboy, Well, you certainly have no shame hanging out your laundry lol The only thing I have a problem is with hanging out towels. They always stiff. I tried using an extra rinse with Downey but with little success. So, the dryer has to be used in this situation. John

Gowet84, I'm with you on this. I like using my clothes line, especially in the Spring/Summer. I see no reason to run an electric dryer when you have warm sunshine. I don't mean to sound anti this and that, but think of the savings and the environment. If I lived in your area, OH yes, I would...

    My Mom's China

Polkanut, Thanks so much for this link. I would have never thought about Replacement Ltd. carrying this pattern of dishes that was purchased through a grocery store. Now, I can add to this set and perhaps pass it on someday to one of my nieces and keep it in the family. Thanks again, John

Polkanut, Well thats a good questions. On my set, China Garden is first, then below that is Prestige. So you are probably right. I am surprised that Replacement Ltd carries this pattern. Sounds like a trip to Greensboro is coming up. Thanks, John

If you bake --calibrate your oven!

Well, since we have touched on toilets, I once in an apartment back in the 70s where the plumbing was quite vintage (pedestal sinks with separate hot and cold water, a bath tub on legs), and a very large toilet with what look like a 5 gallon tank in the back. You talk about a power flush and...

Coal Mines For some reason, It really bothers me when I see pictures or clips of men who would have to lay down on a flatbed trailer or railway cars to go inside the mine shafts. I get short of breathe just thinking about this John

    items for sale ... ...

I have to say, my favoriate here is the KitchenAid. Just looking at the wash arm, you can tell this is a quality made machine, something you don't find today, and not a bad price either. John

Dishwashers in general, particularly top loaders

Maytagbear, I feel you pain. I have had three back surgeries and have to have my partner to unload our dishwasher. There are times where I just wash the dishes by hand just to avoid loading the dishwasher. If I were king and builded my house, I would have had the dishwasher custom made and have...

    My Mom's China

Martin, These dishes are absolutely beautiful. I love the pattern. I have my late mother's china (or nice dishes) that she got through our local grocery store (Food Lion). I believe she started collecting them in the mid to late 70s. Each week, a piece would be on sale and you could add to your...

Has anyone ever noticed that these women go by their husband's first name instead of their own. It's like they don't have a name of their own. Don't think this would be done today. John
