John,

My pattern is by Fine China of Japan, "Rosemary", pattern #5555. We inherited the original service for 8 from my grandmother, who bought it at K-Mart. The second service for 8 I found last fall at one of the thrift stores here in town for $40.

Gary & John,

I looked up your china patterns on Replacements.com, and there it shows that the mfr. of your china was Prestige, and China Garden is the pattern name. Who is correct?

Polkanut,

Well thats a good questions. On my set, China Garden is first, then below that is Prestige. So you are probably right. I am surprised that Replacement Ltd carries this pattern. Sounds like a trip to Greensboro is coming up. Thanks,
John

Polkanut,

Thanks so much for this link. I would have never thought about Replacement Ltd. carrying this pattern of dishes that was purchased through a grocery store. Now, I can add to this set and perhaps pass it on someday to one of my nieces and keep it in the family. Thanks again,
John

John,

My wife inherited a set of Cunningham & Pickett "Norway Rose" pattern china from her uncle who acquired his set the same way your mom did. Now this china, like yours, goes for big bucks. Who would have thought this would be case when these dishes were first acquired by our relatives. I wouldn't trade either set for love or money. When we use either set, it brings back many fond memories of loved ones who have passed away, and many happy family gatherings as well.
