    One dial BOL BD machines

I found this Canadian one-dial belt drive gem! I wanted to share with everyone because I think this is rare. I didn't buy the machine and these photos are from Kijiji. What other BD one-dial-wonder machines were made?

turquoisedude, may I present Lady Kenmore?

Paul, this ia wonderful find! Thank you for posting, and also saving that machine haha. Excellent post! The machine looks like it is in pristine, fresh out of the box condition.    Does the cycle changer button just cancel the current cycle or?

Does anybody know which model Maytag this is?

A308 is also my guess. Nothing else in the '06, '07, or '08 line up matches the button sequence or timer sequence.

When it rains, the garage fills up

I'd love to have that Hotpoint set. Seems like a nice MOL set to have in my collection! And it has rim-flo, which I have always wanted. Damn! Silly Canada not having uCrate.    Sweet acquisitions!    PS Are we now measuring rain in appliance units? "Three washers & dryers of rain expected...

Why did Maytag eliminate the Dependable Care Line?

Current appliance reliability There has been, is, and always will be good appliances, and crappy appliances. Look at Westinghouse, WCI, or even late model Frigidaire machines. Westinghouse DWs in the early 70s were not that good, they didnt even have wheels on the lower rack, poorly rated by...

    Maytag Lineup {Atlantis, Bravos, Performa, DependableClean etc..}

Dependable Care machines are the true MTs as they used the ol' faithful helical drive system. It is a helical drive machine per-se, but the only difference between a machine from 2005 and one from 1965, is the transmission (helical/pitman, and orbital receptively). These machines are also the...

    70's era

Hey Larry! That oddball GE dryer looks like it could be Canadian. I see in the top left corner of the control panel what looks like "Medallion 850" writing. Encore, Medallion, and Tallisman were the model line-ups for GE in Canada. It also looks like it is Bi-lingual writing. Who knows. But...

Summer Vacation means a new "Whisper-Wash"

Hey Paul! Thanks! I looked on Kijiji up in your area, there are a handful of these kinds of machines up there! Yeah I hated that it had a leak, but the impeller kit was so cheap, all I had to do was return bottles to get the money for it. Its a plastic tub model, with the filtering system in...

An Easy Combo Travels East to Maryland

Hey John! That is a excellent looking machine. Great find, and the condition is on par with show room condition. I really like the mechanics of the machine, I spent a good 5-10 minutes trying to figure out how it worked. I second the motion for a video!

Summer Vacation means a new "Whisper-Wash"

Thanks guys! I swap out the DW upstairs occasionally, the Medallion was in there for a while, and so was the Maytag. Now it is back to the poor performing Frigidaire two-pump model. I am looking for a reverse rack machine right now.

    70's era

Who made the dryer? Good question, It looks like one of those ceiling hung compact GE Dryers, upside down. Err, right side up now.

At What Temp Do You Set Your AC?

I set my A/C for 21 C (70F). Depending on the temperature, I will turn it on, or off, but leave the blower/fan on. Like today for instance, was very chilly for a end of May day in Nova Scotia, so I turned the A/C off, and got me some "free cooling" from the out doors. The air system in the house...

    My new KDS-16!!!

Brilliant looking machine!! I really like the "Daily Use" and "Party" cycle options. I hope you get years of enjoyment out of this machine, it is a very neat machine! I am also green with envy, there are no KAs for sale in Nova Scotia.

Summer Vacation means a new "Whisper-Wash"

Peek during wash! Even though the machine has the BOL racks, it can still take a lot of goodies. It also cleans VERY well. I have yet to find something so dirty, remain dirty after a wash in this machine. Hope you enjoyed a bit of Canadian oddness!

Top rack. The tall glasses are about the tallest items you can load up top.

Summer Vacation means a new "Whisper-Wash"

Here is a load... ...I did earlier today. A mixed load of Pots and Pans, and glasses. The high upper rack allows more versatile useage of the wash tower "hump rack", and no! It does not cause things up top to be missed.

Summer Vacation means a new "Whisper-Wash"

Timer Here is the timer. You can see it only shows two functions, Start, and Rinse. If you turn it to start on Normal, the wash sequence is (no joke) pre-wash, pre-wash, pre-wash, wash, quick rinse, rinse, rinse (dispensing rinse aid), dry. If you select Pots and Pans, it extends the second...
