My grandma had this washer. I absolutely LOVED it because it had so many frills compared to our boring ol' center dial Maytag.

Personally, I would recommend any large capacity belt-drive Kenmore or Whirlpool. You are going to get a lot of different opinions on this, and you have a large choice of machines that would fit your needs.

IMO you won't find anything on the current market that would outperform this Whirlpool
