Speed Queen AWN542 Temp switch replacement

It’s been working in the last week so I haven’t taken it apart yet, but I definitely will before replacing the switch.

Speed Queen AWN542 Temp switch replacement

Thank you very much for that suggestion, a loose wire on the switch makes perfect sense to me. I’m inclined to think that it’s the switch as opposed to the inlet valve because on any of the rinse cycles the cold water always injects without interruption, but on the wash the cold sometimes...

Speed Queen AWN542 Temp switch replacement

Recently the temperature switch on my Speed Queen AWN542 started acting up. During full for the wash, only hot injects. When the selector is on cold, nothing injects. On warm or hot, only hot injects. For one load I had to put the dial to one of the rinses and once it filled I put it back to...

    dishwasher replacement

Bosch Ascenta Today the top wash arm in my GE fell off so time to replace it. It's just over six years old but it's just as well. This model isn't stainless steel inside, and the Bosch Ascenta models look very good to me, especially if they don't have a heating element at the bottom of the tub.

    GE Dishwashers

Sani option Yes - Using the Heavy cycle with Sani works well, as long as I don't use the Steam option. You'd think that using the steam option would help clean, but it doesn't. As I described originally, I think that "Steam" function just turns on the heating element which never appears to be...

    GE Dishwashers

Does anyone have any experience with GE dishwasher from the recent seven or eight years? I have one that was installed in late 2013. At the time they had good reviews and the model I purchased has the "steam" option as well as "sanitize." In that year, they were separate options to select...

    GE 1950s Kitchen

I recently came across this article from 2015 about a man who purchased a home that supposedly had a ”perfectly preserved” vintage 1950s kitchen with GE appliances. When I look at the first photo in this article It appears to me that there’s a current model under counter dishwasher in the left...

    Countertop Dishwashers

Has anyone seen or used this Farberware dishwasher? (see link) I’m very curious to know if it really works well. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Farberware-Portable-Dishwasher-with-Built-In-Water-Tank-with-Baby-Care-and-Fruit-Wash-Settings-in-White-w-6-Place-Setting-Capacity-FDW05ASBWHA/414141614

Finally the full wash video of the new 2018 Speed Queen washer

Amana This is very discouraging. I'm not sure how much this machine was, but it seems to operate very much like my $269 sale Amana top load which I bought for a weekend home. I finally figured out on the Amana that I can select "bulky sheets and blankets" and deep wash+extra rinse and it will...

Bottom of the line Amana Washer/Dryer

Does anyone on here have experience with the very bottom of the line Amana top-load, center-agitator washer? (See link.) I have a weekend/vacation home where I had to get a washer/dryer where I expect to wash mostly towels and sheets. I have Speed Queens at my regular home which I love, even...

    New GE Washer

YouTube Yeah, there's a few YouTubes out there. One is of a guy washing one mop head, an interesting test. It doesn't handle off-balance spinning very well, and it does a drain before the spin. In both cases I like the SQ better, but again it's for a weekend home and I'd prefer this over the...

    New GE Washer

I'm about to purchase a new washer and dryer to use at a weekend home and I'm considering a GE, (see the link). The machine will be used mostly for sheets and towels since it's just a weekend home. If I was actually going to be there full-time I'd move my existing SQ AWN542 or I'd get another...

    Speed Queen Experts Needed

New GE Washers Hey everyone, I'm about to purchase a new GE top-load washer to use at a weekend home. At my primary home I have Speed Queens, but I'm not prepared to spend that much for a weekend home and this GE is the closest to an old-school top-load with a full-fill for wash and optional...

What is the best washer you have had?

1994 Maytag Dependable Care Plus My 1994 Maytag Dependable Care Plus was my best and favorite! I loved the white porcelain tub, it worked very well, quiet, and I liked the orbital transmission. I also thought the console was very attractive. I had to move temporarily and everything was put...

    GE Spacemaker Stacked Top Loader

Over the last week I've been staying in a cabin as my partner and I visit his family, and there's a newly installed GE Spacemaker stackable topload washer/dryer. Our host has done a few loads and I've listened very carefully to the phases of the cycle. it sounds like a direct drive...

    Vintage TV Commercial

Does anyone remember this commercial? Wouldn't the force of the water jets in the dishwasher be enough to cause the crystal pieces to crash into each other enough to crack and chip? Especially of the dishwasher of those days. http://https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3S6bJ3iTmg

    Speed Queen - New Models

Third rinse According to the video, unless you select the normal-eco, you get full, or so-called full, tub fills for both wash and rinse. But to offer a third rinse? I imagine that option isn't available on the normal-eco.
