Hi I'm new to this board as of last month. I have enjoyed the posts and reading some of the then in 2004. I have a WIG Frigidaire (Avacado Green) . I think it is a 1-18. Is that correct? My late dad a former Frigidaire traveling salesman bought it used in the 90's to replace our original washer a 1964. Now my question , mine is working fine. Are parts available? If not there was a post earlier that mentioned a WIG for sale on E bay for 20 dollars in Oklahoma. That auction ends in two days. Would it be a good idea to buy it for spare parts? The other question is the WIG easily repairable by a novice like me with no special tools. I know some of the washers had a rubber bellows that fit in the tub on the agitator. My dad used to replace them on friend's washers and he had a special wrench.
Second point. I have a DCIF-64 no vent dryer. It was a match to the 1984 washer mentioned above that I guess my dad had scraped since there was probably no parts available. I'm still needing parts for the DCIF-64. Any advice. I did buy a DDA-64 dryer on E bay two weeks ago that may help for matching parts. I have a parts book I bought on E bay from gansky. I have contacted Don's Appliances in Illnois, Larry at Modern Parts House in Ohio and he gave me some parts. I have contacted Dave's Repair but he has not answered my specific e mails about the dryer. He has answered questions about repair books he has for sale and whether they would be good for mt WIG.
