I've been meaning for the longest time to take a picture of this sign on Lee's Laundry and Dry Cleaning Village. I love their slogan "We Agitate Clothes, Not Customers". This was a cool 'mat with Filter-Flo GE Coin-Op Washers, and last year they replaced their turquoise Hubesh dryers with more modern huge laundromat dryers.

And when I drove by Lee's last week, I couldn't believe what HAPPENED! Damn I wanted to get a picture of those cool GE Coin-Ops, I guess Harriet shouldn't have dried her "unmentionables" on high.

The fire that destroyed Lee's Laundry was ruled as arson. The investigators found a gas can near the wreckage. It was torched in late May/early June sometime---there was a story on the 10:00 news about it.

the fact that it was arson makes it even sadder. :-(

Oh what a shame. I did read about that in the Minneapolis paper. I lived a few blocks from there for a while.

Oh wow, I had no idea it was arson, what a shame, I wonder what the motive was for that? I also had no idea that happend back in May, I wonder if they will rebuild? Even if they do rebuild, no more Filter-Flo coin-ops for Lees |:<
