Monitor Washer

Small impeller based portable wringer. Some were very old, but I actually am inclined to think this is one of the last ones, probably closer to the 60's than 1940. The older ones had a stainless, exposed upper-half/tub to them like this.

John,

You're absolutely right. $250 is much too much for this machine. I'm thinking about sending them an email to see how negotiable they are, but I doubt very much they would entertain my $50 offer. According to Google maps, they are about 3 1/2 hours away from me. So, I have to consider the drive, too.

Will keep you posted.

Well, I emailed the seller. Explained that I only value the machine at $50. Basically, his reply was "Not interested in your proposal. Thx." Guess he thinks he's going to make a fortune on the machine.

I'm sure another one will come along, hopefully closer to home for me.

I had one of those Monitors, cool little machine. Passed it on to Davey. Somewhere there is a connection between the Monitor company and the GE Monitor top.. may have been that the guy who designed the GE Monitor top later went on to found his own Monitor company, something like that anyways.
