Why Da Noive !

Got mine for free, just had to pay to have someone pick it up and ship. Didn't cost that much (used U-Ship), and mine is in much better conditon than the one pictured.

Being as that may, mine is acting up a bit, and finding repair information on these units is impossible. Am almost certain though GM/Frigidare did not build their ironers. The units are almost exactly like the Conlon ironer, and indeed the patents listed on my machine are held by that company, not GM. Conlon also seems to have made a version of their ironer for Maytag as well.

Yes, Frigidaire's Ironer Roller Is Longer

Ironrite's are 25" or 21" (for the portable 890 models). The Frididaire is about 29" or 30", several inches shorter than either the Pfaff or Miele portable ironers, but still the longest of domestic ironers sold at that time.

It was the length of the roller which made me want to hunt down a Frigidaire ironer.

Use mine when I don't feel like or need to haul out Big Bertha (my Pfaff ironer),and have to say since it arrived use of the small Ironrite portable has dwindled to nearly nil.

Am really gobsmacked how there is so little information and or parts lying around for these vintage Frigidaire ironers. Have purchased several repair and service manuals for older GM/Frigidaire products, always to be let down, as so far only one mentions the ironer. Even there much of the information sought is contained in a yet to be found service manual.

Frigidaire ironers seem to be rarer than say Ironrite, Speed Queen, General Electric, and the others. Don't know if this is because so few were sold, or those who have them won't part.

As For The Ironer In the Advert

Wouldn't give more than $20, if that.

Though the pictures are bad, it looks like the thing has been stored in a damp/unheated basement and show serious rust to the porcelian and metal areas. Cannot tell but it looks as if the roller cover is missing or not. Either way it is going to take some TLC to bring the old girl back to working order.

Then again would have to see either better photos, or the thing in person.

Methinks this is yet another case of a new homeowner thinking he has found appliance gold in the basement of his house.

Given the size and weight of these ironers the local scrap trollers would love to get their hands on it. Indeed the person who "gave" me mines was intent on finding someone who would use the appliance as it was intended, and turned down several offers from scrap persons.
