Hi Jerry...congratulations on the machine. Dr. Manny sends all my timers to Recco and says they do a better job than
Mid West timer. Roger, here in Tucson has same machine and he just sent his timer to Recco....they did a great job rebuilding it.
A lot of the story has to do with luck. Hans and his partner, Donald, were out "junking" in southern Virginia not far from here (Winston-Salem, NC). Heading down the road on their way home, there was the store. They turned in and started pawing through the merchandise -- when what to their wondering eyes should appear . . .
Hans knew exactly what it was. The owner of the store said he was not aware that Frigidaire even made washers until he saw this one in the basement of a house that was being sold. (Wonder where's he's been all his life)
Also in the basement was a wringer washer and a Speed Queen with a stainless steel tub -- both of which he had already sold. Such a pity Hans and Donald weren't a little earlier.
The Frigidaire is truly clean as a pin -- and it works, except for the timer. We were able to straight wire the motor. It agitates beautifully and spins normally -- and is very quiet.
Thanks for all the info about the Reeco Timer Co. We'll get the timer off to them as soon as possible.
Meanwhile we're working trying to get my Easy Spindry pump to work so I can start using it.
YAY, of all the Unimatics we have found, the WO-65 and WO-65-2 by far show up the most. Between all of us we probably have turned up over 20 of them now over the years.
