What a joy

to see the Spiralator fly in a smaller tub. The clothes move like tissue.

Love the firecracker lights. Thanks, Cecil B. De Charles.

Pee stream

I actually thought something might be wrong with that valve, but then again, you wouldn't let something like that go unattended and unresolved for long. Wonder why they swaddled the machine with something like that?

Somebody stop me if I have this story scrooched. By the 60s Whirlpool, GE and Maytag had captured upwards of 90% of the market with superior advertising and distribution. As market leaders they had also kept their plants (relatively) up to date where the also rans like Westinghouse had not.

By that point the smaller sellers couldn't afford to advertise, distribute, update and also remain price competitive or profitable. They tended to get gobbled by.... well, gobblers like White. Easy got gobbled by Murray which in turn got gobbled by Hupp (IINM). Gobblers tend to bring nothing to the table except maybe some idle machinery they use to build miscellaneous stuff of little integrity. So the obscure brands become even more so and the gobblers go "hmm, we kinda fudd that up" and either chuck it or go out of business themselves.
