Several memebers emailed me for more info on the Norge Dispensomat pics that I posted when Gary, Mike and Tim were here. So I thought it would be easier to post a few more pics of it here. It was found for me in upstate NY from Jack, an appliance dealer in Akron. I bought it sight unseen and it was in near mint condition, with the lid switch being the only thing wrong with it. Its one of the few washers that I have and use that does not have a companion matching dryer with it. Im still looking....there's got to be one out there! But I was very greatful to Jack for finding this for me and its a fabulous washer..........

Dispensomat door, open. You can see the compartments for Soap, Bleach, etc. There are 2 little spouts that pivot, according to the wash cycle progress, and water flows thru them to dispense the proper laundry aid at the proper time......

Cycle contols. This is the Regular Cycle. The user can select the speeds and wash/rinse temps independently according to his/her preference......... The clock can be set to start the washer at any time the user prefers..........or it can just be set to manual. Very similar to a stove/oven clock...........

Cottons & Linen cycle. If you notice the "dots" on the contol, the user is supposed to manually turn the speed and temp contols to correspond to the "dots" for each cycle.....

Norge Dispensomat

Hi Jimmy,
I realy love this machine. Seems like from the pictures of the dispensor that their is not a actual bleach slot unless I am reading it wrong just says wash liquids I guess that is for bleach? Also on one dispensor it says rinse powder - what type of powder can you use for the rinse? On the timer - time line it looks like when you select the fabric the time line disappears. I would love to see the instruction manual for this machine. Best of luck with ths real Gem.

Hi Peter, The rinse powder would be a product such as Calgon. Norge was promoting Calgon in the mid 50's with their Super Rinse and dispenser wheel.

Nice Norge Jimmy!

Jimmy:

What a gorgeous machine! I have to admit, those Burpolators really rock! I enjoyed watching Robert's Norge at the convention!

What are the two small buttons under the fabric dial for? Are they for the lighted controls?

Good luck finding the dryer! It may be easier than you think. Afterall, those dang dryers waaaaaaay outnumber the washers out there in recycling land! :-)

Venus

Thanks Venus, the two buttons under the dial are for the light and for a small load. You wait until the water level is at the desired level, and then push the button and agitation starts. Interesting to note tho, is that it is not programmed to work on the rinse portion of the dial. For rinse, you get a full load of water no matter what!

Beautiful machine, and looks very flexible as well!!! Love the "Delayed Wash" feature...much like "Timed Bake"!

How do you change the fabric setting? Do you select it with the lower plastic dial, or the timer dial just like any other machine?
