Jimmy - that is truly a dream machine and it is fascinating with such an advanced design for the times. This is the Dispensomat I have ever seen up close. Sigh - I wonder if there will ever be a Norge in my future... Let's hope there is a matching dryer in your future. There is nothing quite like the sound of the old Norges as they move from fill to agitation - truly the sound of power.
To this day, I still can't believe that Aunt Jennie's Norge still looked showroom new and had the use and care guide when she let it go in 1975. It sat unused in the kitchen for at least 9 years and she continued to polish it weekly along with all her other kitchen appliances. Brooklyn apartment kitchens had little counter space so when not in use the top of the machine was covered with a wooden cutting board - giving her more counter space. I also don't quite recall exactly what was wrong with the machine that rendered it unrepairable. But based Robert's Norge restoration and comments on how difficult that machine was to service, it was probably something no service person wanted to deal with. I would think that today with the internet and parts sources, it might have been salvageable
