1960'S KENMORE WASHER?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Late 1960s ... maybe 1968.  Appears to be the model my aunt had.

Note the timer layout.  The "H" Spin-Only cycle is tagged in what could be a 2nd rinse sequence following Normal ... except that there's no 2nd Rinse option and the section is separated from Normal by a designated Off.

H is for Hidden Rinse...LOL

That is very odd that there is a ghosted rinse cycle on that timer.
Maybe a model up had an second rinse switch? Gordon?

Truly a Great Washer

Congratulations on your find. You'll really like how it performs. Only drawback is standard capacity but still holds alot IMHO.

This is the exact model I purchased several months back in Coppertone.

Not sure why but mine has penta flex agitator whereas yours has the roto-swirl? Guess Sears changed agitators along the way. Several members commented of problems with the penta flex; as there is no skirt at base of agitator items sometimes got caught underneath; but I've had 0 problems and am quite pleased with the wash action and roll-over.

Great washing and rinsing quality. I've never had to use a 2nd rinse as the machine rinses well and has several spray rinses before and after the deep rinse.

I have the matching dryer in gas that is a beast! Dries loads very quickly - almost keeping up with the washer - even full loads of heavy towels and cottons are dry in 40 minutes or less; while washer is usually about 35 minute regular cycle. Has a 25,000 BTU rated burner. It's a monster!

Because I really like both units and want to continue using, I've purchased several parts that remain available at Sears Parts.

Best of luck to you!

John

The speed control knob appears to be broken. It has three positions, shouldn't turn past either Slo/Slo or X-Slo/Slo.

This is the first time I have ever see concert in a washer! Must see pics. John E was telling me a story about one of his Duomatic's having concert in the pump and I was floored and now I can say that I have had the samething happen to me. The speed switch is broken it is stuck on slow I think, if you put it in auto it won't spin and makes a tareble noise.
