1960'S KENMORE WASHER?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

This is the first time I have ever see concert in a washer! Must see pics. John E was telling me a story about one of his Duomatic's having concert in the pump and I was floored and now I can say that I have had the samething happen to me. The speed switch is broken it is stuck on slow I think, if you put it in auto it won't spin and makes a tareble noise.

Going for the dumb question...

Anthony, I'm so impressed that you got this working, because the tub was so corroded looking. Was the cement in the washer tub you removed? I didn't understand the word "concert" in your description. I'm imagining the seasoned collectors are chuckling at my question, but I didn't expect the machine would be up and running so soon. It sounds and looks great. I always liked these 800 machines, among so many others, but anyting from the late 60's has a special meaning for me, too.

Thanks for posting all this - something to learn here, thanks for the reply.

Really Nice!

Congratulaions! This looks like a really cool washer. Fully featured, but very straightforward in the choices the user has to make, and a simpler control mechanism.

Nice job on the tub cleanup. Glad you were able to get it up and running. Hope you have a lot of fun with it and thanks for sharing the videos!

Congratulations on the great find, and I wish you great enjoyment with it. My neighbors had the 1966 version of this washer, so there is some nostalgia in seeing this model.

Have a good one,
James

Sorry Phill

Darn auto correct on my phone lol I didn't even see that. It was concrete...  Thank you guys! I will take a new video now that the speed switch is fixed.

Nice vid!

Never heard a Kenmore make a sound like at 1:22.  :-)

The timer skirt seems off-index by one increment position.  Unscrew the chrome knob, there should be a couple screws to loosen for adjusting the skirt position.
