super duty surgilator

Helen's machine had the MONSTER version with the large fins and wings on the bottom. Here's a video from one year ago today on Easter morning at Helen's old house.

I still can't believe a yucky Roper sits in its place now :-(

*BLUSH*

Do you say that to all the boyz?

It's not the size of the stip, but the motion of the agitator. That is what determines how well your load gets done.

Austin, that was the exact washer, and matching dryer (although it could have been a 70 pair instead of 700), that my cousins bought when they moved into their first house, that sudivision you like that was behind the one I grwe up in (Memorial Bendi I think it's called).

OK, HERE I AM!!!! The Seller.....In the flesh!!!!

I can't believe the amount of hype these two old hunks of junk caused!! Just kidding, I'm enjoying the stir that they're causing. So, le me answer a few questions....They are in NY, on Long Island...One family story is, they were bought by grandma behind old paws back, delivered, brought into the basement, and as the story goes, grandpa flipped out and never let her use them...he refused to hook them up. So, there they sat. Years have passed, I took over the house after they both passed away and I find these 2 beauties under a cover. To me they were in my way, so I moved them and just let them sit more....now, years later I decide, enough, I'm not a collector, and I should probably just sell them......and here we are. They are the same ones on e-bay, dryer is electric, All the manuals, feet, 3 prong electric adaptor are all in sealed bags. There's even a mystery bag. A brown paper bag, stapled shut, and I have no idea what's in it. I'm not opening it till the day I sell these. I do have a bunch more pics that i just took the other day if anyone wants to see more. They are away & covered, but there's some stuff in front of them, so to measure them would be a little bit of a pain. I'd measure them for a buyer if there was a serious offer ready. Any other questions, I'd be glad to answer.....oh, and any offers??????? Thanks Phil

These need a lighted controls certification....

It may not be obvious on the washer, but the timer dial illuminates against a matte aluminum background and looks really cool with good detail. Dryer is lighted too.

Well Mr./Ms. seller:
~There's even a mystery bag. A brown paper bag, stapled shut, and I have no idea what's in it. I'm not opening it till the day I sell these.

THE BAG IS FULL OF CASH! AND LOTS OF IT....Don't we all WISH!

So out of curiosity, what machines were being used that were intended to be replaced? I have heard a few stories of really tight men....er make that CHEAP men..that did not allow a W or D in their own home. (UHHHM you are spending MORE at the laundromat and paying for someone else's utlity bills, rent, overhead, salary, maintenance, etc.)

and yes Austin nothing like a LADY!
See linkie.

ANT1=> "ANTENNA" Network (a station)

AMAN - "kane me na noiwsw gynaika"
AMAN=> "OMG" It's the name of the show.
The rest of the title says "Make me feel like a Lady"

Scenario, supposed to be a man and a woman.
She says finally "What are you waiting for, clown? Make me feel like a Lady; a real woman"
"Ok you wanted desired it" he says.
Punchline: "Iron this, Babe."

You Gotta Love Husbands *LOL*

Woman buys a new washer and dryer, hubby won't hook them up to teach her a lesson. Nevermind they sat sitting in the basment bought and paid for gathering dust for years, her indoors must learn who wears the pants in the family.

Great story and wish you the best with the sale/auction. Someone will surely nab this set and give it the loving use they deserve.

Launderess
(Who has her own tool box and can hook up appliances quite well thank you very much. If not has own gold Amex and can call in someone who can. As for those pants, after the machines are hooked up HE can wash them in the wringer and hang them on the line!)*LOL*

Gadget Gary

that electronic sensor strip you see in that turquoise Lady K dryer, is actually 1 of 3 sets of sensor strips in the dryer drum. very effective electronic sensors.

LK dryer newer than '67

We had '67 LK dryer just like the white pictured.Except it had the 3 black sensors. The one pictured has the 1 rear wall mounted, makin' me think it's newer than '67.?????

Sensor

Powerfin64,if you look closely at the open door dryer pic, you'll see the sensor panel on rear bulkhead under exhaust screen.Has to be newer design than 3 black sensors.??

Wow! Pictures And Videos.

This wins my vote for the Thread of 2007.

Gorgeous Kenmores. My neighbor across the street had a dryer that just about matched that washer, except hers may have been a model 70. It had the small size hamper door.

The dryer looks familliar. It was that LK dryer that was in the Keaton's back vestibule on the comedy series Family Ties (Seasons 2-end of show).

Hopefully somebody snatches them up quick, and puts them to use!

Good Luck,
James

In my personal opinion, they're worth what you listed them for (perhaps a bit less), but I find it odd that they're not getting any bids. Someone's who lives in or near the Northeast is bound to want and have room for a never-used 60's Kenmore set...

Message to Phil...

Phil - I sent you an eBay email last night asking if you would sell only the Dryer. I realize you've listed them as a set but do not have room for both the Washer and the Dryer- thus my question. As Westy mentioned they are collectible but imho wouldn't expect to get say like $1000 for them (it could happen, depends on the buyer, won't be me though). Shipping will be expensive, probably $400+ each (I've shipped an appliance using Creighters & Freighters).
If you would rather wait for someone to buy them as a set I understand, so am looking forward to your reply. Thanks, Robert

Isn't it Overloaded?

Robert,
I thought the load you were watching in Ross' Thor was too much for the old fella, but now, to see a picture from your childhood, it appears the base line from which to determine "overloaded" may be a learned trait. Your mom wasn't Roberta, was she? Perhaps Bobload is not gender specific.
Kelly

Silly Boyz, I just took the picture, Mom loaded the washer. Since it was my first time ever taking a picture I'm sure I was more concerned with the camera than the washer. How fitting that my very first picture was of a wash load. Don't even ask me what picture #4 was.
