There was a Frigidaire laundromat in this cute corner building with Rollermatic avacado machines at 24th and Hennepin across from the jewish temple. When it closed about 1986 it became a pizza place...
Wow I never saw anything like this before. My coin op washer memories were purely Speed Queens, Maytags, GEs, Wascomats, and Zanussis. Once I saw a BD Whirlpool in a hotel in New Hampshire. This is indeed rare.
Robert---and wasn't there a gay book/magazine shop just around the corner (on the Hennepin side) of the pizza/sub shop? The pizza place was called something else when a friend lived a block away from the building shown...but I can't remember what it was called. We'd get take-out from there all the time. My friend moved into an apt. building on DuPont (just up the block following the sidewalk on the right up 24th). She moved there in '88. Didn't realize it had been a laundromat before that![this post was last edited: 4/20/2013-06:45]
