I just aquired a copper color 1968 whirlpool imperial washer and dryer set. The washer needs a new outter tub seal and the 4 tub bolts. Their is a slight rusted section on the bottom of the outter tub. i was wondering if a water proof glue would fix this little problem or will i have to search for a replacement tub. Tom

If the rust hole is near a bolt hole, There is a replacement bolt kit with extra large rubber washers. "SealAll" sealant works well for small holes. Could also use plumbers epoxy.

Hi everybody Thank you for the advice. I will try that and see how it works. I will try to load pictures if i can figure out how to get them to load up. thanks Tom

Re: Inquiring or Wondering Minds:

Hi! 68IMPERIAL, would like to know which suggested way of trying to do your Repair was your decision, that worked for you?

Your WP Washer should give you a lot of years of Happy "Sudz-Cake" Washing, besides the Fun of watching it operate.
Congratulations on your successful attempt to save another Vintage Washer and giving it more life again.

Repair method

HI The repair method I used was to replace the tub bolts, used an epoxy sealant to seal the small rust hole in the outer tub,and also I replaced the center tub gasket just to be on the safe side. This is a really impressive washer. Thank you for the inquiry.
