Go For Em!

I saw three of those in Harvest Gold at a summer resort in Pennsylvania back in the summer of 1977. It was an awesome sight to watch all three running at once, and listening to the sounds of advancing timers and shifting solenoids. I look forward to the videos.

Good Luck,
James

Speed Queen Laundromat

I remember using a laundromat in Whittier California every Sunday morning, equipped with harvest gold machines just like that one! The solid tub was kinda cool, but it always seemed to me that there could be residue, or stuff left in the tub.

The L'mat owner must have a stock of parts for those fabulous old Queens the rubber tub guard looks almost new, certainly has not had the wear the control panel has seen. I would almost guess that maybe, on the one pictured that some machine parts were combined from donor machines. Still you have found something many of us are not likely to see again. best of luck, with scoring one of them. alr2903

Those are wonderful washers, I used to love laundromats that had those when I was a kid. That machine should have the 700rpm spin pulley attached which makes for a nice fast dramatic spin.

I saw one from approximately 1970 in that cool Speed Queen Orange color about 10 years ago, I'm kicking myself for not grabbing it then.

I have one almost the same

Thanks to Coldspot66. Great machine. Solid tub. Only thing missing is the "Clank" of the solenoids. Overflow Rinse. She has a pause between cycles for about 30 seconds. But has the same "gurgling" sound as she pumps out the water. True memories of the old days.

Just wondering

Is that a light between the L and the W?
My mom had two Speed Queens. The second one was a commercial heavy duty with a stainless steel tub. I would agree, they always left behind residue. I was thrilled when we got my grandma's Kenmore. I don't care if the dirty water did drain thru the clothes, the tub was never as yucky as a Speed Queen.

2 Wash Timers

What were the differences between the 22.5 minute timer and the 33.75 timer? Is it the same cycle sequence with extended increments?
