That's all pretty serious and spiffy!

YouTube ... make sure the video is not set for private-only viewing.  View it as normal, copy the URL from your browser (on a computer works better than a phone), paste it directly into a post, not as a URL Link to Share.  AW software will automatically recognize the link and embed the vid, you'll see it in the post preview.

Thanks everyone! They are in super condition for being 45 years old. I ran 2 loads through the washer this afternoon and it ran very smooth. There was about a dollar bill size water puddle where the tub seal leaked on the first load but not the second. I’ll be replacing that seal and deciding how far I want to go with a rebuild. Everything looks original to me as you can see the pump is original. Wherever these machines were installed all of these years they were not used much and well taken care of. The top of the dryer as well as the drum are factory fresh.

As to the YouTube incident it was my first try at posting a video. I recorded it on my phone and then created a YouTube account and I got as far as clicking the upload button but couldn’t tell if it worked or not. I’ve never had internet at home (I know blasphemy, right?) so that probably makes it more difficult.

Randy I ran out of time today but next time I’ll have to run the permanent press cycle.

Check again at your YouTube account.  The vid may take longer to upload than you expected depending on the size of it.

The dryer having intermittent tumble for Wrinkle Guard, instead of continuous tumble, is unexpected to me.  Bonus!

Randy, this washer does have the 4 minute drain each drain period, hence only the 8 minute maximum wash time on the Perm Press cycle. I imagine the cool down is only one fill period too.

Glenn (DADoES), did your 1976 WP have the single cool-down Knit cycle as well? That feature lasted from 1973 to '79 when they revised their cycle configurations to Regular/Heavy and Knits/Gentle, and reducing to a single cool-down in PP.

Sorry Folks!

I tried unsuccessfully again to upload the video. I get to the point where it says it’s uploading the video and then nothing. I’ll have to get with a technology advanced friend and maybe they can help. I’ll learn eventually.

They are in storage patiently waiting restoration. The washer ran fine with a tub seal leak so it needs to be gone through.

I want to say it does have an out of balance switch but it’s been a couple of years since I looked at this one.

I'm guessing it doesn't have an OOB switch.

1) I don't see one on parts diagrams.

2) It typically mounts to the inside of the cabinet near the service panel in a position for the rear edge of the baseplate to bump the actuator lever.  There doesn't appear to be one in the photos (#3 rear view) above.

3) There's no mention of it on the feature sticker (#7 & #8).

Hope you can get them up and running soon.I really love the 1974 70.I never heard the sounds of an active self cleaning filter on a Kenmore before. Kind of like snorting gurgling snorkeling sounds.... Pretty cool to listen to actually. You don't really hear it. If the water level is high but medium to small loads, you can really hear it.

I guess I should’ve looked at the above pictures before answering questions from memory. Lol This washer does not have an out of balance switch.
