Love these vintage scans! Thanks so much for posting them.

Bad idea from the past: The continuous-cleaning oven. Couldn't scour them with steel wool, and if I recall correctly, you couldn't use oven cleaner on them, either. Never had one---we went directly from manual clean (1967 Kenmore 36" range in coppertone) to self-cleaning (1985 Whirlpool in blah almond---but everyone I knew who had said, "Never again!".

Continuous-cleaning oven!

I once had a continuous-cleaning oven and it wasnt bad if you knew how to take of it. I perfer self cleaning but its better than nothing. I do know most people didnt care for them. The whole idea was Not to scrub them and let the soils disolve with continued oven use. We had our Crown gas range for 3 years and my mother is very fussy and she had no problem with the continuous-cleaning. I think it would be better if manfactures continued with the removable oven panels to wash in the sink as a better solution!

Hi My ASKO oven is easy to clean the pan in the bottom and sides can be tacken out for cleaning .
