HEY YOU!!
:oD

awww, thank you for the sweet comments. it seems this control panel is unfamiliar to alot of members here?

justin was the one who originally got this machine from ross. and justin passed it on to me because the timer knob broke off in his hand when he tried to turn the timer dial. so i am definitely thankful to ross as well as justin for getting this machine. and i'm thankful to roger for storing the machine for me & helping me bring it home, hook it up, and get it working properly. and i'm thankful to bruce for the matching almond windowed-lid.

i would love to see pictures of your 806S that you got from ross. that is so cool!

you have yourself a great what's left of the weekend too love!

i plan on using the frigidaire sometime this week and will post a video!
;o)

oldskool/john:

thank you!

there DEFINITELY are some GREAT members who are very supportive and helpful here! they all have a special place in my heart!!

i must be crazy too, because i totally understand your going from the kenmore craze, to your maytag madness, and frigidaire frenzy. i think we all here get that because we all have a "COLLECTION"! some bigger than others, and some that are growing.
LOL...

have a great day as well!
:o)

leononmaui/leon:

thank you for the tip on how you figured the water level to match the load size on your frigidaire. it doesn't get any simpler than that. i will keep your strategy in mind with the other tips that have been shared with me to see which one seems to work for me the best.

i'll be posting a video sometime this coming week (most likely on monday) of me using the frigidaire for the very first time.

thank you again.
:o)

appliguy/pat:

pulsating patty, that's one i didn't think of. that's a cute one too!
:o)

i will definitely keep in mind that less water in the tub is the way to go, when using the frigidaire.

thank you.
:o)

frigilux/eugene:

thank you.

i think the control panel looks really good with the color of the cabinet too. i think it actually looks better in person. it is very pretty. the pictures don't do it justice.

thank you again eugene.
:o)

mayken4now/steven:

thank you.

i will do what you suggested & make a video.
should i add detergent or just plain water?

:o)

daveamkrayoguy/dave:

thank you.

i'm not at all familiar with the frigidaire model line-up. is the "CUSTOM" model a lower end model, in the lineup?

for me, it seems to have the perfect options that i like. if i could add another option to this washer, the only thing i could think of to add would be the GENTLE wash & FAST spin speed combo. but i could always just switch it over to the NORMAL/FAST speed during the final spin. so it's not that big of a deal for me.
and plus, i don't even know if FRIGIDAIRE offered that speed combination?

askolover/greg:

i don't think this is one of the "RAPIDRY" 1000rpm spin models?

but i do know that when it is spinning, it does start out slow and once the water seems to be all out of the tub, then it "kicks" into a faster spin speed. it's not like the maytags that build up to speed while spinning as the tub is emptying. this one seems to actually "shift" into a faster spin speed. if that makes sense?
but i don't believe this is a "RAPIDRY" model.
someone who is familiar with the frigidaire washers would be able to answer that question for you. i'm not sure but, i think the "RAPIDRY" models were solid-tub washers? but i don't know for sure.

bendixmark/mark:

you should post a picture of your green, windowed-lid frigidaire so we can all see it.
:o)

did you or someone else add the windowed-lid to your frigidaire? or did it originally come with the windowed-lid?

You won't find a Rapidry spin in a 1-18, although, with the circumference of the tub being what it is, it exerts enough g's for pretty good water extraction.

The Custom series was towards the BOL.

It seems like...

For the CUSTOM to be near the BOL, it has options that match the maytag 608 which was near the TOL;
4 water temps,
2-speed combination,
X-large infinite water level
PERMANENT PRESS cycle, REGULAR cycle,
plus KNIT cycle
(which I think is like the maytag fabrimatic's GENTLE cycle {agitate/pause}).

Or at least that's what the KNIT cycle seemed to do? I'll have to run a complete KNIT cycle to see what the frigidaire does exactly.

Unless the frigidaire experts can chime in and confirm how the KNIT cycle works.

Christina, I've been looking through my volumes of Tech Talk's and what I have found about the "Custom" series is that it appears as the third model up in the BOL series and just under the MOL "Crown" series.

However, just as the name implies, it is possible that a large customer had a Custom Series made for their market.
The Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha comes to mind.
When you sell appliances by the train car load, you can specify anything you want.

I have a 1967 Frigidaire Gold Crown. It has Rapidry 1000, yet, I have never seen another solid-tub Gold Crown with this option. I have also seen Custom Deluxe machines with Rapidry 1000.
It was obviously available if a large customer bought enough of them.
So you may have a truly "Custom" Custom Series.

The Knit Cycle was Warm Wash/Cold Rinse using Gentile Agitation and Soaking intermittantly.
A Cool Down just like the Durable Press Cycle and Slow Spin Speed
Best way they could find to launder plastic clothing I suppose. I refused to wear it. Scandalous.

Gyrafoam/steven:

Oh wow, that is really cool to know! Thank you for that information about customers being able to customize Frigidaire options if they bought a big enough quantity. That is really interesting to find out!

And thank you for explaining the KNIT cycle to me. So for the KNIT cycle, are the choices you can make, made automatically? Or do your water temperature & speed choices still apply?
In other words, what would happen if you chose HOT/COLD & FAST on the KNIT cycle? I'm guessing FAST, intermittent agitation & soaking? But would you get the HOT temp? Or would the KNIT cycle override your temperature choice?
Hmmmm...

Sorry for the dumb question. I guess I could just run an empty load and see what it does too, right?
LOL...
:oD

hippiedoll/Christine:

When I think "Custom", I think single speed--or is that what a "Crown" would be?

Frigidaire in that era, from what I've seen in whatever brochures are put Online, and here at AW, surely didn't go too spartan, as in One Knob, at least in that era...

Feature-wise, I am looking at the Temperatures available, and I see you just go up at least one model to get Three Speeds, as maybe two, and there's the Infinite water level--so I'm going on the basis of just those accommodations, until someone, that is a Frigidaire-expert chimes in with what model features what things...

That is a neat machine--and I even initially thought it was Avocado, just for the Almond color to be revealed...

So, anyway, may you enjoy this machine and always use it in great heath...
