I'd put a ring of silicone caulk around the bottom of that hose flange to make sure it won't leak again.Requires disassembly of pulling the spin basket and outer tub to access that tub outlet hose, as it's called. The outlet port "boss" of the tub sits upon and compresses the upper flange of the outlet hose.

Just a small ring of sealer around the base opening so that when the hose flange is slipped in, its flange presses down on the sealant. That sounds like a great idea.
Should I apply sealant to both surfaces that come in contact with the bowl and the base?
