2 dif size bellows for a 1-18

hey its been a long time since i have tinkered with a 1-18 but its time again.. she runs great just a tiny leak from the water shed above the rollers so i took the cone out and checked the larger bellow and that one is fine but the smaller one that is inside of the larger one is torn would that cause a leak? it only leaks when the agi is moving but will not leak if you just fill the tub.. so is there any source for the smaller bellow or can i beg borrow or steal one from another member??? please let me know i want to get this baby back up and runnin..

Hey Chris........the larger bellows is the water bellows and should seal the tube from any leaks. The smaller bellows is considered the "oil" bellows and keeps any oil or grease from reaching the inner tub. If If there is a leak then there has to be a pin hole or something in the water bellows......Will look around and see if one of the oil bellows (from the roller-matic) will work on the 1-18......will let you know.......Mark

thanks mark.. the larger bellow looks good and i do have a new one of those but id really like to get a new one of the smaller bellow.. it only leaks when the agi runs. you can fill it no leak you can spin it no leak just when the aig is running.. so im thinkin the carbon or tub seal is still ok

According to the bottom of this page, if the leak occurs only when agitating the problem is a bad center post gasket.

Water Seals

Supposedly the water bellows and the water seal oring are it.

My machine lacked the water seal oring, so I had to clean things up a bit to reinstall one.

You can see the "diaphragm support spacer" with a washer and nut on top of it. There's supposed to be an oring there in the little shelf on the outside diameter between them.

The agitator retainer nut goes on top of all this.
An oring fits in this space between the top of the diaphragm support spacer, in the small notch there, and the washer held in place by the rusty nut. The Outside diameter of the oring seats in the inside of the agitator retainer.

HEY THANKS YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHT I HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE RUBBER O RING AND IF THERE WAS ONE THERE IT WAS GONE .. HUM MAYBE THAT WILL DO IT . I GUESS I CAN REINSTALL THE OUTTER BOOT AND USE A NEW O RING AND SEE IF THAT DOES IT.. WORTH A TRY
