Hello,

Question 1: I have a KDS-57A that I am trying to attach a hose to. I tried to screw on a brass 3/8 inch female with a 3/8 barb onto the inlet valve and it was too large. I went back to the hardware store and exchanged it for the next size down which was 1/4 inch, and it was too small. I cannot figure out what size use. What am I doing wrong?

Question 2: This machine was converted to built in and the wheels removed. What size wheels do I use. I know the front and the back were different.

Thank you.

Michael, I was astonished to learn back in 2016-ish when at the DC Wash-in that all dishwashers use washing machine hoses. Go figure. If mistaken, John Combo will correct; he's the one who showed me while re-hosing a Frigidaire DW at the museum.

Hopefully a solution

I purchased a dishwasher fill/drain attachment for the sink with the black hoses rather that the newer style.

I was able to get the 3/8 compression elbow off of the inlet valve and will attach a 3/8 male elbow with barb. After looking at dishwasher hookup kits that contain a 3/8 elbow, I noticed that the compression end is smaller that 3/8 and not exact. This was what was so confusing.

I hope what I am doing will work and I didn't make a mistake.

I am still looking for any suggestions for the casters. I don't want to use a furniture or appliance dolly.

Oh !.............

You were talking about connecting a unicoupler to the valve, different hose and NOT a washing machine hose. I will take pix of my portables' wheels--a Hobart and a two Whirlpools--later today to give an idea of what you may be looking for.

Mickey,

Thanks for being so kind.

I have seen the underneath of a KDS-58 post here on the site.

If you can perhaps give me any measurements of the caster size that would be most helpful. I just want to make sure she’s level. I know it had two wheels on the back and two decorative rollers on the front that were held on with a bracket of some kind. I was thinking of putting on side mount wheels on the front.
