Hello,

I've seen a few posts stating you can do this without the Robinair tool (Combo52) but not any posts on how to actually do it. I don't know that my bearings need replacing I just know I have the new parts and the entire machine apart and I'd like to replace them because this machine is going to be my daily driver at this house. I see the seal on the top of the centerpost with something that looks like a removable cap is that how you get the bearings and the seal?

Looking for some clear instructions on how to get the bearings and seals swapped out with new ones from kit 285134.

Help!

Center Post Bearings For A BD WP Built Washer

You only need to replace the actual bearings if they are worn, you can tell if they are worn by whether water was in the center-post or if the spin-tube is worn.

If the bearings are not worn just replace the top seal and relubricate the bearings and seals.

If you need to replace the bearings and do not have the proper bearing installing tool I have heard of people pounding them in place, but I would not try it as you will likley destroy the bearings in the process.

Thanks John

I don't think the bearings are bad, they feel smooth and I don't see any evidence of water in the transmission oil. How do you get the top seal out?
