Age of machines

Hi Kevin

Thanks! The Wilkins twin tub is 1960's and the Hoover's and Wilkins 401 are from the early 1970's.

As for the 'Maytag' resemblance, you are correct, the '400' series were the first Wilkins machines to use the Maytag platform.

Cheers

525 Heater model

Hi Leon could you tell me if the Wilkins Servis top loader and the Hoover 525 do they have a heat stop position on the dial or is the heater just used to boost the tap hot water?
Apart from a Hotpoint top loader I have never seen a different top job with a heater I have used a few Maytags but they were heater less.
Could you do a favour for me too and take a close up shot of the controls of that Servis twin tub please?

Cheers Austin

Heater's....

Hi Austin

The Wilkin's 401 and Hoover 525 both have seperate controls for the heater: 'Off, Warm, Hot'.

If you wanted to use cold water only, then these machines will heat to the desired 'warm' or 'hot' temperature before starting the wash cycle. I think that's what you meant right?

Cheers
Leon
