We saw that a home out here was for sale for $75 million. Well, here is one for much less, in a Walkable City. With many of the amenities that we all would like to have. I can see that 5 car garage quickly converted to a washer collection display area.

I do think that a large portion of the price is the location, in the Marina District of San Francisco. But the construction and Green features are really wonderful. And 5000 sq. ft. is a lot, but for a 6 bedroom place, it's not that extravagant.

Well, I grew up in SF and I can't quite fathom how home prices there have skyrocketed. Supply and demand, I suppose. But frankly, I prefer to live in the sunnier, warmer East Bay. And the Marina District? A seismic nightmare, much of it is built on landfill and sand. It all come boiling up during the Loma Prieta quake of '89, and as you may have seen on TV, entire buildings collapsed onto their ground floors.

But yeah, if I had unlimited wealth I'd probably buy a tony home on a hill somewhere in SF just to visit and hobnob once in a while.
