Alright, time for photos of the 1957 Speed Queen in action. First, here is the control panel. Robert, compare it to yours. It has a slightly different layout. Seems like mine has a few extra increments for the fill stage. Unlike any SQ I've owned, this one increments in 45 second intervals. Also, the rinse is a total overflow except for the last 90 secs. Here's a link to all the pics. They start at pic 18.

Wow, excellent pictures! Looks like a very fun machine to have around and stylish too!

That looked like a fairly small load so how was the turnover with the high-vane agitator?

Just Beautiful!!!

Hi Eddy, your new SQ is just beautiful! I bet you are having a lot of fun with it. You are correct, the Canadian version has a few more fill gallon increments listed.

its a very fun machine

Glad you're all enjoying the pics. Austin, the turnover is great with that high-vane agitator and you're right, it was a light load... it could have handled a larger load with ease. I'm interested to see if Robert's 57 SQ timer increments in 45 second intervals like mine or 1 minute. I notice on his, the gal fill are 3 gals per line (13, 10, 7) but mine go up by 2 gals/line up to 15. Possibility: Canadian gallons are imperial which are a slightly larger size hence only 2 per increment? I'm just guessing here.

speed switch

Hi Cory, that switch controls the speed of the whole cycle, everything slows down when it's on "lo" so agitation, spin speed and even the pump are all affected for the entire cycle. Later machines had choices for both agitation (brisk/gentle) and spin (fast/slow) and Greg (gansky1) has a rare model that has 3 speeds.
BTW, I just love your Multimatic, what a fantastic find!

I appreciate yours and everyones nice remarks, glad to share these fun pictures with you all.

Thanks for the great pictures Eddy! What does that time switch do on the top? There are two numbers at each setting. I was thinking wash and spin, but if that's the case, what's the purpose of the short cycle?

Fun to see you too, about to drive the trolley! My cooking forum friend is about to move from that island place she lives on to Vancouver, so maybe she will see you when she goes shopping! :)

Vancouver beauty

What a wonderful machine. I love the control panel with the Speed Queen lettering, and I love that high-vane agitator. Thanks for the pictures!
