Hi all! I'm working on a 61 Kenmore dryer. The front skid plate bearings that support the drum are mounted in the front panel. The book says to put Lubriplate 89318 grease to the groove in the lubricating felt strip. Whirlpool no longer carries it. What was it? White lithium hi temp? Thanks for the help. The matching washer is next!

I used Lubriplate

When I worked at a Xerox refurbishment plant in Oak Brook Il. in the 70's and 80's. I don't even know if they still make it but if they do it would be available at any Hardware store with the other grease and lubricants. It was the color and consistency of peanut butter. In fact, that's what we used to call it. It was not used in high temp applications. I would assume any similar type grease would be a suitable substitute. Lubriplate was just a brand name.

Good Luck!

Off hand, I'd say Lubriplate 630-A should be a safe bet: NLGI 2 (consistency of peanut butter), temp range to 275F.

I picked up a 14.5 oz. tube at NAPA several years ago, primarily for automotive use and still have plenty left but the price then was much less, around $3.

I have an old cardboard tube of Lubriplate with a metal screw-on lid.  The more I use, the harder it is to get the stuff out.  It's now below the level where a popsicle stick would work.

Super Lube

After looking into Super Lube, I'm tempted to use it. It has a temp range up to 450F. It is approved for use on Delrin. Any thoughts?
