Good evening/afternoon everyone, hope everyone is doing well this Thursday. So here’s another Whirlpool/Kenmore dryer question, did Whirlpool built dryers in the 1970’s have separate cycling thermostats for each of the temperatures, or did they use a bias thermostat like the later models? Just wondering, have just about exhausted everything at my disposal with trying to get the timer debacle solved on the Whirlpool, I *might* look into transplanting a later style of Whirlpool Mark 18 console on, we’ll see this upcoming spring and summer.

The ones I've seen all had separate electrical stats for each temperature from that period of time. At one point Whirlpool even had a thermal bulb in the exhaust the a capillary tube going up to the control console. Biased stats came latter.

Since there’s 3 thermostat openings on my Whirlpool Imperial dryer, shouldn’t be too different to wire and get the console mounted up. I’ll think about it some more, but this is the only option I have left at this point at my disposal.
