Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Who made the dryer?

Good question, It looks like one of those ceiling hung compact GE Dryers, upside down. Err, right side up now.

Portable Dryer

The dryer is a GE, and it's actually right-side up. These were also available as part of the WCI separate stack models and they were mounted upside down with the timer escutcheon that went on the same way. I have the one from John's warehouse, and it's very neat. I';d like to use it right-side up but the top is rough and I'd need a new timer trim piece. 240v machine usually, my machine had the 120v plug on the back for the washer as well.

Hey Larry!

That oddball GE dryer looks like it could be Canadian. I see in the top left corner of the control panel what looks like "Medallion 850" writing. Encore, Medallion, and Tallisman were the model line-ups for GE in Canada. It also looks like it is Bi-lingual writing. Who knows. But thats my take.

CN model...

You are probably right...Keeseville is near Plattsburgh, which is just over an hour from Montreal, so may have bought in CN and/or moved with...many a Brador's run made to Montreal when I was a college lad :-)

hot fast fingers needed

You are looking at a stunning, complete Estey Organ from Brattleboro, VT. By complete I mean that it has the beautiful walnut top section with mirror (to keep an eye on the choir loft) candle shelves and storage shelf.

This bellows organ has a serial number of 250201 which puts its manufacture date at 1892. One of the bellows is leaky, but can be easily and inexpensively repaired by you or any upholstery shop.

When it was working (in 2010) the sound was full and steady. Winning bidder should expect to make minor repairs to bellows and do a general dusting of reeds. The red fabric of the sound ducts could use replacement as well. It is dusty and has a few finger pokes (kids). Again this is a simple repair for you or an upholstery shop.

Pedals were recovered in 1970 or so. The carpet is effective, but is easily replace with more traditional pattern.

Because of the size of the item, this is a local pickup (Newcomb, NY) only. I will be on hand to help move it, but strapping and trucking is the responsibility of the owner/moving company.

Roger,

Glad that unit was saved by one of us.
I could not remember the craigslist area to add to my link above and please post some pic if the dash lights up when you get it home!
Thanks for looking and saving!

Also, that KA is the last electronic series before they went all manual control panel. Keep us posted if you do yank these units!

Larry ...thanks for posting

the gold stove - actually Phil had seen this one too (don't think too many Figidaires get away from him!! ;-) ... hope to get it soon, and will post more pics when we can get it here! It'll go great with our Harvest Gold KDC-17! You're only an hr North of us in Monroe, near 'Cuse?

Harvest Frigiaaire Range

Thats a great range Roger glad you are getting it, the 1970s Self-cleaning FD ranges had a great oven.

The SQ pair is a great deal, if someone here buys them be sure to contact SQ as you have to re register them to get the reminder of the three year full warranty.

The compact GE washer is indeed a Franklin style machine, these were interesting little washers that were almost sure to suds-lock on the final pump-out and spin because the pump would often air-lock as it was mounted below the motor. I remember how we struggled with the terrible pump-out performance of these washers and WCIs only cure was to make the final spin almost 15 minutes long the machine would just keep struggling and finely would get the water out and get up to full spin speed, all the while you smelled the hot rubber smell of the poor belt. LOL  WCI finely put an electric drain pump on these machines and did a neutral drain which solved the drain and spin-out problem. But by this time GE had the good sense to abandon WCI for their compact laundry appliances and switch to WPs DD Compacts and Thin-Twins.
