Hi all.

I've got this cute, yellow Hoover washer and dryer combination that I'd like to give away. I assume they're from the early 1970's, given that the boilerplates on them have 1973, and 1976 as the patent dates. I haven't tested them, beyond plugging the dryer in to see if it would turn over. It does.

The dryer is model 0914.
The washer is model A6001-6. Both made in Japan.

I'm willing to drive them to Toronto or Ottawa or points nearby, for the cost of my trip, $120. I'm near the town of Bancroft, Ontario.

If you can pick them up, they're yours.

I can send additional pictures, too.

Regards,

Chris

What a generous offer.

Can't remember seeing a Top load Hoover Portable before. Like Eric, I love portables too. There's just something about them. Could we see the inside of the washer and a close-up of the control panel ? Thank you.

Ability to attach multiple photos?

Hi Chris,

Unless you piece them together in Photoshop, there is no way I know of, sorry.

Thank you for posting additional photos of the washer!

and finally, this.

the tub appears to be in good shape. no visible rust or corrosion. the blue seal at the top is fine. fairly well preserved.

I'm Very Interested................

And I'm right in Toronto. So this could work out.
That dryer would match my Hoover Twin Tub very well.
And an impeller style mini-automatic would be rather cool to have in the collection as well. Especially for those "lazy days" when ya just want to start it and forget it.
Contact me via my email listed and we'll work something out.
That is, if you haven't already parted with them.
Thanks!

Jeez, I'm gonna need a bigger place real soon at this rate!!!

There were a lot of these around in their "days" here in Canada.
I saw several of them in the 70's and 80's.

ronhic;
ya think?
I totally agree as one could spot a Hitatchi made washer from a mile away.

I had an Hitatchi "all-in-one" washer and stacked dryer unit when I lived in Victoria, B.C. It was the early version of their agitator machines.
I'll tell ya that if I knew now what I know of them-I would NEVER have had one.
Washed extremely well, but that is because they were so violent that I think dirt was 'scared' out of the load as well as being bashed and beaten outta them.
Terribly violent on clothes and not the best for sensitive fabrics.
Also tangled the clothes up a LOT.
But, I will still say, they washed well because of it.
