The seller says:

"A classic electric kitchen cookstove. Microwave, cooktop burners, oven, broiler - all work. Coppertone color. Needs some dusting off, as it's been in storage, but it's fairly clean overall. Might need a little touch-up degreasing, but not a lot. Too good to go to the recycling pile and I'm not asking a lot for it, so it can be saved and used by someone. It's a heavy beast. I loaded it on a pickup and moved it myself, but I'd recommend bringing some help.

Bet this thing cost a lot of money when it was new. "

(I would say A LOT of $$$$ , new)

If he has been trying to unload this for a long time, and it's only $25, it must be a long drive to the recycler or scrap bin, where his gas cost exceeded the scrap metal value?

Leon is in a pretty rural area at the southern Iowa border - probably no recyclers anywhere near there.

LOL, the corn is too busy being harvested and sold for $7.50/bushel to have any time to listen!

Not that anyone would ever consider Leon a tourist destination, but it is pretty country with rolling hills, a Mennonite population, and so on - plenty of tourist traps have been built with less. But I never thought that anyone would ever make a movie about the bridges of Madison County, much less with big name stars, so what do I know???

I'm tempted to put up a sign in front of our Interstate exit that says, "This way to the Egress" and see what happens!

Around here, if you want to get rid of something like that, you post a free ad and the scrappers swarm! Unless you're dropping off something like a car, most scrap facilities, sorry, "recyclers", charge YOU a nominal disposal fee to take it off your hands.
