Your story of the Georgia snakey barn reminds me of the time a freind had found a 1960's VW Squareback in a barn near Comfort, Texas. It had been in there since the mid 70's. He trailered it to a storage place here in Spring, and asked me if I would like to help clean it out. It was filled with car parts and lots of hay. Well, I offered to assist. We went to open the back hatch and when we did literally hundreds of mice came flying out! Then when my freind opened the passenger door, we definitely heard the very distinctive sound of a rattler. We both just about jumped out of our skins when the mice came out, then when we heard the rattler my freind decided that he was just going to leave the passenger doors open and give up for the day. I never went back to help with that one again. He was hoping that the snake(s) would leave on their own.

and catch my breath! Did you see that bright green Hoover dryer when you first came in? Swoon! Hoover Twinnies? Break out in sweat!!!
There is a wringer washer there for every member of the club who wants one! I really should look into getting a Hoover twinnie over here. The urge to wash clothes somewhat less than automaticly is overwhelming...

There are Maytag twin-tubs there as well, Hoovers of all vintages and even a few brand new, still in the box Maytag Porta-Dryers.

Have a MIB Hoober pump in my stash somewhere. Never opened the box to see what was what as my Hoover TT seems fine, not that it gets used that often.

Geoff is currently on a 'leave of absence', and a good one at that! I suspect he'll be back in a few weeks.

I love Hoover TT's Mine is rigged to a Craftsman pump because parts are gone for ever. I would love a copper TT Did you see if it had the automatic rinse?
When i saw you guys climbing the washer piles, this thought kept playing over and over, making me smile and laugh

One can order parts for certian Hoover twin tubs from various sources in the UK. Pumps, belts, hoses, etc were all pretty much standard on both sides of the pond for some models. Too tired to look up the threads, but check the archives for links. There are also several Yahoo Groups devoted to twin tubs were you'll find part sources.
As Hoover UK has recently discontinued twin tubs, parts while more plentiful than the States, are starting to become scarce. You may wish to consider placing order soon.
Have an old pump that was leaking, if you know someone that rebuilds pumps, you are welcome to it.

Oh no you don't. One Hoover TT is all my poor nerves/ears can stand! *LOL*
Hoover twin tub washing is fun, but since it is stored away in a cubby, having to roll it out, set things up and get started is more than one can manage these days. It is just so much eaiser to chuck things into the Miele, set controls and come back when all is done. Still, for lots of laundry I need to get done quickly, can't beat twin tub washing. Once you've got a system going, things fly by.
