So yesterday I made a quick Goidwill stop and found a nice Hamilton Beach slow cooker ($80 retail new for $12) Has the locking lid and digital controls.

I knew it was missing the temp probe but knew it could be used without and figured I could find one easily.

It was getting close to closing time so I quickly looked it over andI plugged it in and all seemed fine, but what I didn’t notice is there’s a hairline crack in the crock that wasn’t apparent until I took it out when I got home.

Is it safe to use like this with a liner over it? Otherwise I guess I wasted $12. I’ll keep an eye out for another crock but I guess it’s unlikely I’ll find the exact one to it on its own. Sometimes when you find something that seems too good to be true you have to really check it carefully to find why it was donated…

To the best of my experience and knowledge, most Goodwill stores have a return policy for electrical items (and certain other items as well).
