I can remember being like that kid was at that age. I didn't want kids toys, but wanted the cool appliances that the grown-ups played with! My favorite was that neat carpet steaming gadget that my aunt had. Maybe one of you all here knows who made it. It was a blue rectangular box that sat longways on the floor, and rolled around on wheels. On the top, it had to clear plexiglas domes. One dome is where the clean water went, and the other was where the dirty water went. While the machine was in use, the water in both tanks would bubble and churn. You knew when it was time to stop when the clean water tank was empty, and the dirty water tank got filled up. The nozzle was also clear plastic, so you could see the water gurgling up and down the tubes!
...I wanted one of those things BAAD! It was so cool to watch! Mom and Dad would borry this from my aunt every so often to clean the carpet, and it was a fun day when they brought that machine into the house!
