For the last couple of months I've periodically put an ad on our local "Swap Shop" radio show looking for a gas stove for our basement. Last week, I got a call from a guy in Merrill that has a 1949 Maytag Dutch Oven gas range for sale that he has restored. The asking price is $150, which I think is more than fair. He was going to use it in his home, but decided to restore a Monarch wood/gas range for his kitchen instead. I went to look at it this morning, and it's GORGEOUS!!! It originally came to WI from PA, and those people decided it wasn't going to fit in with their lifestyle/decor. It is practically immaculate. The only fault I found was that the original broiler pan has surface rust, and looks to be pitted too. He does have another broiler pan that will fit though. It's not a big deal, I don't plan on broiling with it anyway. It also has the deep well burner, and original pot. I think it has found a new home in my basement.
