Last weekend had a gang of us attending Als home to see the fruits of his labours with the addition of a super duper new extension to his home, making a divine new galley kitchen fit for a chef (or 2 lol)
and an equally matching dining space, of course what does one do with the existing kitchen.....Well Lets Take A Look !!

This pic is where we usually end all end up on the patio and is the side of the house that has basically had an L shaped wrap around extension built onto it.

We finished last Halloweeens official gathering by packing stuff away as the new build was to contine weather permitting over the next 4 months into the new year, Al had worked out all specifications, plans drawn and builders, plumbers sparkys vetted and recruited ready for action...And the first day saw the team digging up the grounds of hallowed turf to relay a new drainage system.

Deep trenches, underpinning and new drains installed, separate rainwater and waste water provision.

With the drains done, now for the first footings, a concrete core base and the walls can now start to be build. Al is going to do a full picture video later of the staged build !!

First courses of brickwork, insulation added over the concrete poured floor and good to go !! The sticky up drainpipe is the services carrier to the central kitchen island,
well with all those ovens to use and dishwashers etc...

And some weeks later we have a roof, all safely secured and ready for stage 2...

Last job before the builders leave is to crack open the old pat and lay down a new drive...

The next phase saw the electrics , plumbing and painting completed ready for furniture. Heres the new kitchen diner side..

And new appliance display room side, which was the old kitchen diner. Once all that was done new dura flooring was fitted and sealed up the walls along with floor drains to provide quick clean away from any leaks and spills.

A last big shout out goes to this little fella who sucked up more dust dirt n debris throughout the whole build - All On 3 heap Fitrete bags !!

Which led us to this weekend where we gathered to start moving appliances about into their new home and to see the new build. It was envisaged that this could be a big reveal weekend, fully finished, but with all things building , weather permitting and snags it was a work in progress weekend, The power , water and services where only switched on a few hrs before we arrived. We had a special club member fly in to cut the ribbon officially, but am sure hew will be back for the next big date - Fully Finished !!

It literally was all hands to decks as we unpacked the kitchen and dining room...

So after welcoming guests on Friday night it was time for a well earned drink , dinner and welcome more guests on Saturday morning...Jon (LavamatJon) , Steve (SESteve), Richard, (Ricky5050) and Mathew (Keymatic3203) moi behind the lens and Alistair cooking up dinner..

Wall of Hotpoint toploaders fitting into place, a few had suffered from not being used so each one was tested and new parts such as blocked pumps, new pipes etc..

Meanwhile all the gang were busy moving and I had a thought to make a window display with all the Hotpoint Spiraclean FilterFlow agitators, so I went outside after arranging them to take a pic....

Working great, now to wheel it into the line up, they are great with the hot water combi boiler fill, its just above them so supply runs directly into them now..
