That is amazing, I am envious, and I am SERIOUSLY GEEKING OUT over that delicious font on the window... I love the minimalist design of these: So clean, so uncluttered.

Looks great, Kevin! I apologize for being out of town and unable to pick it up and store it for you.

I plugged it in a turned it on before loading it in the truck.  I didn't leave it running long enough to see if it gets hot, but at least I know the motor works and the drum turns (but the rubber drive wheel on the motor does have a flat spot.   How fun to see a screw in fuse as part of the dryer!

Arbilab ~ YES!

Ralph ~ Yes we made it home fine.   Thanks again for your guest room, it was great seeing you and David.   And yes, sent photos to Heidi, but haven't heard back yet.

Andy ~ She is not going to move anything out, I won't let her!

Stan, Alr, Paul, Bob  ~ Thank you!

John L ~ Honestly I don't know if this one can be changed over to 220V.   The power cord is coming out of a small hole in the back panel that's only large enough for the cord.

Dan ~ Hey don't worry about it!  And THANKS!

Brian ~ YES, THANK YOU!   I sent you an e-mail!

Jerry ~ I second Andy's comment, it looks really GREAT all lit up!

Thanks for the pic. How do I remember the yellow wheel so well? I spent hours sitting on the floor with a bent coathanger fishing lint out from behind that 'smile' panel behind the duct. Neglect that long enough and the drum will stop turning. At 50c/week allowance I figure my parents owe me $5000 (with inflation) in service calls on our slant Westys.

Hubba Hubba

I don't know if she'll find her mate, but she's sure to make more human admirers all lit up like that. Just...lovely.

Kevin,

It just hit me - this may be a D4 model that was made only for use on 110v. If it is, I have the manual for it...

I can't wait to see it up and running!!

800 miles - I remember driving to Marin county from Woodland Hills, thinking I'd make it one day(haha- never happened, slept at Big Sur)...so that drive you made is one I can identify with - great riding along PCH1. Congrats, on this fine looking dryer..the two look great. 1952- the year before my sister was born.

Does she sing "How dry I am" at the end of the cycle

No, my dryer is a 1952 model. I don't know the exact model years the "music box" was installed, the dryer in the video below looks like a '55 or maybe '56, model.   I think it was installed 2 or maybe 3 years only.

Does anyone know what year these were offered for sure???

The link below the video is a thread from 2006 with very good photos of the actual "music box" and here is a video of it playing.
