A (partially) new kitchen

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

As of tonight...

We've run every imaginable electric wire, the basic backboard is up, and the soffit is in. The latter was the most time consuming! We keep coming across so-o-o many anomolies that each take time away!

Tomorrow will hopefully see the countertop installed along with the cooktop (???)!!!

...it will never match the "beauty" of the 2 great

Y'all are going to make me blush!!! Thanks for those very kind words :-)

I hope we are all able to get together, very soon, to christen the new addition as well catch up with each other!!!

Perhaps a holiday party???? Hint!!!!

Wall oven

Rich are you going to re-use that beautiful wall over you had?
That one was a beauty, and I love the controls being underneath like that!
I grew up with a wall oven and cooktop stove, I much prefer them over a regular range.
I have vowed that someday I will have them again in my "future" kitchen.
All the best on your remodeling, I am sure it will be gorgeous when you are done!

Rich are you going to re-use that beautiful wall over you ha

No. We have a "new addition" to the kitchen family. I will only tell you that it's a Jenn Air! The rest is a suprize :-)

If anyone would like the oven then you are welcomed to it FREE!!! It works but I have to have it gone by Saturday or it will have to go to the transfer station.

Thanks for the best wishes!

Rich

Here's the progress so far. The soffit lights are in, the drawer is made and installed on the right of the counter (still needs its front) and the counter is leveled and contoured. Not as much as we hoped to get done, but we, once again, ran into some snags, and Rich had an appointment that couldn't be changed!

Ok I'm confused.

Is the cooktop staying in this vicinity, with a wall-oven elsewhere?

Is your new cooker a free-standing one-piece jobbie with the oven below?

R U adding propane gas to the mix?

IIRC :
Beige Romex [plastic-sheathed cable)is 15 amps
yellow Romex is 20amps
and orange Romex is 30 amps.

so the color of the wires is further throwing me off...

sign me
nosey and bedazzled...

wall oven...

Rich what was the brand of the old oven?
I've never seen one with the controls below the oven.

Ok I'm confused.

Oh, Steve, don't leave me openings like that!

I'm taking a quick break from re-leveling the countertop, and thought I'd check in. Your eyes are not deceiving you with the colors, Steve. Hopefully it will all make sense after tomorrow, which is when Bobby D and Greg M are so thankfully coming to our rescue to.... oops- almost gave it away!!

Yes, hoover1060, the old wall oven is a Westinghouse as Steve said. You know you want it! All you need to do is come and get it! It's free for the taking! Unfortunately, if nobody claims it it will make its way to the transfer station tomorrow afternoon. :-(

Back to work for me!!

Chuck

And here it is, with the installation crew so-o-o-o glad the lifting is over. Thanks again so-o-o-o much Bobby and Greg!!! From left; Greg, Rich, Chuck, Bobby. The only injury was a cut to Bobby's thumb (hope it feels OK today!!!).

Evan came by after work to finish the 220 lines and to have the honor of hooking up the final connections. Here, he's scientifically checking the cooktop with a highly sophisticated heat sensor! :-)
