"Still, how can you beat an oven where the parts come out and get shoved in the DW.
...and both stainless steel and glass do well with Easy-off (lye-based) YAY!!"...Actually, Steve, it's not stainless steel. I just read the booklet and it is chromed lined and it makes special note to NOT use caustic cleaners "LYE" They recommend, for excessively greasy ovens, to use 1/4 cup household ammonia and 1/2 cup of water in a glass container. Place the container in a slightly warm oven and leave overnight or several hours then add soapy water to the solution and wipe out the insides.
"ok, I am eating my words... "...Ooh, ooh...and I can now cook, roast, bake or broil them for you, Jeff!! LOL

Thanks for the kind words and 64 was a good year BUT 62 was better
"My Tappan has the same kind of doors..." I would love to see a picture of your Tappan! I don't recall seeing one up close.
" I don't think my heart could take it!"... Veg, I'll send some Nitro!!
"I'm speechless!"...Venus, I understand that's not easy to do

LOL. Thanks! No there is no vintage fridge in the future :-(
"I loved your old kitchen but this is just unreal." + "the best I have ever seen."...Thank you, Rich and Tim, now you both have to come back here for dinner...SOON!
" that the same one Elizabeth Montgomery of blessed memory had?"...I'm not sure. Anyone???
"Too Anxious to Wait"... We are now building the side cabinets and there will be a cabinet over the oven and a couple of shelves on the side of the right hand cabinet. We'll install under-cabinet lighting as well. We're debating on whether to put doors on the side cabinets and if so would we like to have glass doors!
This is a fun project BUT I can't wait for it to be over!!
