Skyler and I took a quick trip to Minneapolis on Friday and returned this afternoon. We had a great time, a little shopping at Ikea and the Mall of America (not as busy as we thought it would be) and then spent most of the day Sunday baking and cooking the day in a snowstorm. Don (Jetaction) came over last night and then Jeff & Cal and John Lefever stopped by Robert's on the way into town for their family gathering.

Sunday, there was a blustery snow storm and bitter cold temperatures. We spent most of the day baking, Robert made three pies and I made breakfast of French Toast, a batch of chocolate fudge and sugar cookie cut-outs. Here are a few pics of our weekend washing & baking.

Hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoys the time with family and friends!

We did a load of jeans in the 1947 GE washer Saturday night...

Our test items in the KitchenAid - the whipped cream was easy but the small ramekin on the side has melted & dried cream filling from Oreo cookies used to make one of the pie crusts. Of course the KA blasted all this away with no trouble at all, everything came out perfectly clean and shiny.

With all the weather and delays in the midwest and east I am very thankful to be done working until January!
That snowfall was beautiful and those cookies, perfection all the way! Great photos all, thanks for sharing them.
Robert, are your floors in your kitchen cold?

Fun. Fun. Fun.

Greg, thanks for sharing. My mouth is watering just seeing all those treats.

Seeing all that snow and that cozy kitchen is also making me homesick and nostalgic for winters in Alaska and Christmases at grandma's--fabulous breakfasts, tasty treats... food for days. It brings back lots of happy holiday memories.

Yummy Fun!

Thanks for the pictures! You guys are having so much fun!!!
Everything looks so tasty!
The Dishwashers look so inviting! Ready for the wash! I just love that KitchedAid! Looks like the day it came out of the box!
I love that Westinghouse Hood! I never noticed it before in pictures. Is it an original?
Merry Christmas! And best of luck for the New Year!

Peace in Minneapolis at least

Cool Christmas thread. Nice to see all those beautiful toys being used. Somehow that Revere Ware saucepot on that GE burner just gets me where I live. Merry Christmas y'all (No, NOT with a Paula Deen accent, thank you very much).

My on my what a fun time!! It looks like you guys really had some great things to eat. I know first hand just how good those glazed sugar cookies are!! Glad that you had so much fun. That's what it is all about.

More Fun, Fun, Fun ....

How cozy to have a day in the kitchen when the weather outside is frightful, how delightful. You know, let it snow, let is snow, let it snow. (Sorry, I'm at the point where I just can't help myself.) But really, the smells in your house Robert had to be fantastic. Nothing like baking up a storm when there's a storm outside. Looks like a weekend of abundant appliance opportunities, what fun. A great weekend during the festival of lights.

Robert, did you take a break to blow the driveway???

I love that Westinghouse Hood! I never noticed it before in pictures. Is it an original?
Oh its an original alright Brent, one of a kind actually ;)

Robert, are your floors in your kitchen cold?
No not at all, especially with all the cooking and dish washing going on.

Somehow that Revere Ware saucepot on that GE burner
Actually it's Farberware, I love my Farberware!

Robert, did you take a break to blow the driveway???
Sure did, took me all of 10 minutes!
