We got these from Kenny (Goatfarmer) weekend before this past. We got right to work on them.

Well, of course they are "real" Maytags! One tends to want the very best for ones summer home, and cost is no object....<:

(We really only paid $30.00 for the set, $5.45 for the can of epoxy paint, to repaint the front of the washer, plus $5.85 for the bottle of CLR to remove the rust stains from the washer spin tub but don't tell anybody)

A friend of mine's mom here has the exact same set, but in avocado. I'm supposed to have access to them once she's no longer on the face of the earth.

Tub shot

Budder worked his lil' butt off scrubbing this tub clean again. He kept saying "it's not working", and I kept saying,"but it WILL, and you are the little engine that could so keep scrubbing"

Lesson learned: Hard work never killed anybody, but it can put $10.00 extra in yo pocket. <:

Dryer drum shot

There was also $1.78 in change, and a small pocket knife in the bottom of the dryer. Not too much lint though. All cleaned out and looking great.

Of course the fabulous glamour shot...

A coat of Meguiers Tech Wax later and they are shining as new.

Moved them over to the "summer home" garage yesterday. So they are "parked" and waiting for the "summer home" to be finished.

Yay for Kenny for saving these! And Yay for Kenny and his wife for spending their Saturday afternoon with us.

We had pizza and beer, and also washed a couple loads. One in the 56 Whirlpool, and another in the famous Monkey Norge Touch and Wash!

Great time had by all...

I must say, to anyone that get's the chance, put this on your summer list of things to do, take the tour! Rick is the perfect host, you are fed well, drinks are on the house, the tour of the summer house is to die for, and the main estate, well lets just say it's a must see!

Another fantastic job, Rick and Budder! If I had known about that knife and change, though.....8^)

Wonderful find and expert repair

Thanks for sharing. Anybody would be proud to have those beauties.

By the way, is that a 1950 something yellow Cadillac just behind those Maytags? It looks like a beauty also.

Thanks guys! We had fun doing these machines up.

The Cadillac is a 1955 Coupe de Ville
