So, have two Kenmore Even Heat Gas dryers. (110.72954100 and 110.73942101) Beige on the left and white on the right. The right one was bought new, the left was bought at a garage sale. Same controls on both.
The one of the left would have an intermittent problem. Occasionally it would not run after push to start. Could unplug from the wall and plug back in and it would work. That has happened maybe 10 times on this dryer -it doesn't get used as much. So the other night, hubby said the dryer on the right wasn't working which has never had an issue. Same thing but unplugging didn't work. So thought maybe the start relay, Nope not it. Got to reading the tech sheet that was inside the panel and it will not initiate the diagnostic test. So checking out the wiring diagram, pretty sure it is the control board which is NLA. Found a company in Austin that works on control boards www.fixyourboard.com. So shipping the control board to them today. Will let you know what happens.
So anybody have a new board available for the other dryer which I am sure will end up with the same fate?
Also, any way to swap out the control panel with a different model that doesn't have even heat board stuff, replace the thermistors with thermostats?? If so, what model might work?
Thanks,
John[this post was last edited: 5/27/2020-11:33]
