Slimline DW design is a compromise for those who haven't
enough place for a standard size DW. Well, I'll try to explain ...
Spray arms draw circles while moving. In a standard DW (60 x 60 cm) these circles are large nearly as the side of the square they are inserted in.
So some few parts in the corners aren't well sprayed. This is why many commercial DW do have round racks even if they aren't rotoracks and why sometimes narrow mugs and narrow stemware don't get washed properly in corners
Slimline (45 cm x 60 cm) spray arms are shorter than 45 cm but the unit is 60 cm deep. This cause more issues in the corners.
To cut a long story short : draw a circle inside a square, then a circle inside a rectangle and that's evident
